How and why Olivia got into the Aesthetics industry
Olivia has always had an interest in aesthetics and enjoys meeting new people. She started having anti-wrinkle injections at the age of 25 and it was really at this point, her interest in aesthetics was sparked. She wanted to know more about the products, the treatment processes and in fact everything non-surgical. Olivia firmly believes that aesthetics is a very personal thing. Getting to know clients well and understanding the result they want to achieve and achieving them is what gives her fulfilment. She also enjoys the variation from day to day. Every client is different and requires a personalised treatment plan. Learning the correct techniques and applying them alongside applying her own artistic license to best treat her clients concerns and objectives is what she loves most about her work. There are always new treatments coming out and she also finds the new challenges of learning and getting qualified rewarding. The flexibility of working for herself and choosing her own hours was also a big plus. Having a child under the age of 2 was going to be difficult with a nine to five job.
What is Olivia’s favourite product?
Choosing just one favourite product is difficult as they all achieve different results. She loves anti-wrinkle injections. She uses Bocouture and Azzalure, but if a client has a preferred brand she is happy to oblige. This of course applies to any treatment product. Filler has an immediate result, where as Skin Boosters such as Profhilo and Nucleofill show the end results up to eight weeks after.
For those considering aesthetics for the first time, what treatment would Olivia usually recommend?
Normally a client would approach Olivia with a particular concern in mind and she would advise accordingly. There are always some clients that will say they are just not happy with the way they look and what they would like to achieve. In their first consultation she would always assess what they aren’t happy with and then create a personalised treatment plan. It is crucial that any aesthetics practitioner needs to explain each treatment so the client is prepared and agrees going forward. This also includes the prices of treatments. Olivia ensures that clients are fully aware of both before and aftercare of any treatment.
At what age does Olivia think that aesthetics is a good idea?
Olivia started having anti-wrinkle injections at 25. She recognises though that everyone is different and will have their own opinions on aesthetics. Olivia is a firm believer in the fact that prevention is better than a cure. She also strongly advises using quality products in your daily skincare regime. Start researching aesthetics practitioners in your area. It’s important ask for their qualifications and insurance . When a client starts to feel there are areas needing addressing, that’s when you should start looking into treatments.
How important does Olivia think Aftercare is?
As far as Olivia is concerned, aftercare is incredibly important. It can really affect the end result of the treatment you have had done. Clients must have aftercare fully explained in depth, the process, what to do and not to do and the reasons why. Every treatment has a different aftercare plan. You will also have an email sent to you with the aftercare fully explained when you sign the consent form.
Olivia’s philosophy is about giving people confidence in their aesthetics journey. How does Oliva do this?
Finding an aesthetic practitioner that you trust and have a good relationship with is vitally important. Olivia recognises that this is what is going to give you confidence in your practitioner going forward as well proof of qualifications. Olivia doesn’t know one client that has had their lips done and said “That’s it I’m done now”! As we all get older, more problem areas arise. Having a good relationship with your practitioner, that understands the goal you’re trying to achieve is paramount. This is why Olivia calls it a journey. Olivia has been having aesthetics done since the age of 25, she is now 37. In this time she has only used two practitioners. She can also certainly say it’s been a journey! Seeing her clients have more confidence in themselves is extremely gratifying for Olivia. Knowing that when they wake up and look in the mirror and say “Yes I look and feel confident and happy in the way I look” is why she got into aesthetics. She loves helping people become comfortable in their own skin.
